Mooresville & Troutman Dentures

For many people, dentures allow them to have a beautiful, functional smile that improves their health and appearance. Dentures have come a long way, with more comfortable and natural-appearing restorative dentistry options than ever before. Our team at Curtis Family Dentistry can help you find a denture option that will fit your lifestyle and oral health needs. We offer both full and partial dentures for our patients as treatments for missing teeth. This is whether you just need to replace a few teeth or a full mouth restoration. Full or complete dentures give those who have lost most or all their teeth a brand-new smile. For many, dentures give them a more attractive smile than they have had in decades, with improved function as well. Dentures are fitted to your gums and stay in place with adhesive. Often, a few remaining teeth need to be removed. Then, the dentures can be created to replace all the teeth on the lower and upper jaw. Depending on your situation, you may need to wear temporary dentures until your gums heal from extractions. There are many different options to ensure you get the dentures that will best suit your needs, lifestyle and budget.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are an affordable option for those who are missing some, but not all, of their teeth. A fitted denture is made to replace missing teeth, using your existing teeth for support. Partial dentures are removable but can be made to fit comfortably. This is an excellent option when a dental bridge or dental implant is outside of your budget, or you are not a good candidate for these dental restorations. Let our team at Curtis Family Dentistry help you restore your smile with beautiful denture options. You deserve to feel confident in your smile and look your best. Denture FAQs

How do Dentures Work? To best explain dentures to you, we will first start with the way that full dentures work. Full dentures are dentures that cover the arch of both your upper and lower mouth. A full, or complete set of dentures, are made with a flesh-colored acrylic base that comfortably fits on top of your gums. The upper denture has a base that covers the roof of your mouth, and the lower denture is horseshoe-shaped so it doesn’t cover your tongue. Dentures are removable and can be easily cleaned after eating or before going to bed. What if I’m only Missing a Few Teeth? At Curtis Family Dentistry, we provide both complete and partial dentures. If you are only missing some teeth, then partial dentures are right for you. Partial dentures rest on a metal frame that comfortably attaches to the surrounding natural teeth. How do I Take Care of My Dentures? First and foremost, know that dentures are delicate so be mindful to not drop them as they may break. Also, dentures shouldn’t “dry out,” so when not in use, store them in either denture soaking cleanser or just plain water. It’s important to never use hot water, which can easily warp your dentures.
